                    A technique that people use to show the 3 dimension of an object in 2d. The technique is used for many thing like engineering drawing. You can see that in a lot indies 2d game design as well. It's hard for me to explain in English as it is not my native tongue but here a definition I found online.

                    "Isometric projection is a method for visually representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions in technical and engineering drawings. It is an axonometric projection in which the three coordinate axes appear equally foreshortened and the angles between any two of them are 120 degrees"

                    notice that artist seem to make thing a bit extreme haha that container on the table in the second image (by Ayano Imai) would slide off the top in real life. All in all, artist use isometric perspective to create very interesting space. Isometric perspective does not look right to those who has not been exposed to the use of this style/method.
