Does anyone know any resource on paying tax as an illustrator. Such as what are some reasonable and legit compensation that I can write-off, besides material and book cost, etc. It is almost tax season again, and tax in the U.S. for self-employed is ridiculously high, 40%-50% of my income goes to all kinds of tax directly. I wonder if I ever missed something that perhaps can be written-off, or if there is any article or resource that helped you on preparing for tax.

      Thanks much!

Pay the $100 for an initial meeting with an accountant. They will save you that much in taxes.
