Waving from Michigan

Hello Everyone,
My name is Anthony aka RowdyPencil. I live in Michigan and just started today.
One weird fact about me: I'm a huge pen freak. I collect pens/pencils/clutch leads/markers you name it. I don't know what it is about drawing tools but I have a fetish when it comes to pens that border on insanity. My collection also features some hard-to-get "you paid how much?" type drawing pens lol.
Anyway, I'm here in my ongoing attempts to be worthy of said pens!
Looking forward to sitting the SVS curriculum and picking up some additional tips and skills. Loving it so far.
By day I'm a Software Engineer. By night, I'm a dreamy-eyed writer desperately seeking to finally publish my first comic book and graphic novel.
I can't wait to share my work with you guys for your critique. Also looking forward to going through the forums to see what everyone else is posting.
Cheers

Hello from a fellow Michigander, and welcome! (And I also have an insanely large collection of pens and pencils, but I blame my grandpa, not living in Michigan.) Looking forward to seeing your work!

What's your favorite pen? Your go to everyday carry pen?

@RowdyPencil Welcome to the forums! Do you have any social media we can follow you on?

@SheerArt Hi
My favorite pen is my Ystudio pen I bought myself as a birthday gift. It's really a beautiful pencil, sleek, and has my favorite size lead size, 2mm.
My go-to, the always in my hand pencil is the PrismaColor TurQuoise 2mm Lead Holder. I think I'm fond of it because it's what I started with years ago. I love this thing. I have a few. Staedtler has one similar but to me, it's not the same.

@Braden-Hallett Hi
As far as traditional art, no shamefully. As I mentioned above I'm a software engineer by day. Which doves tails into one of my other passions (Game Development). But the artist in me wants to do the visuals too. So I've gotten "OK" at 3D modeling, animation, texturing, etc.
However, this means I've bitten off too much and I just don't have enough time in the day to make a complete game; doing both the coding and the art. Beats wasting time watching Netflix though
Game Development is cool and if I actually put my mind to it and found the time I could probably create a complete game. But, to be honest, my creative itch has also been around writing and wanting to draw traditionally again.
As much as I like 3D, there still something personal to me about traditional media. Hard to explain but it what it is. I love the idea of creating something on paper even if I'm the only person who sees it.
Anyway, my Twitter here doesn't have much. But it does show a few of the models I've created and whatnot. I've always considered maybe creating a Instagram account to post drawings. So maybe once I get going here I'll do that.
As you may be able to tell "Rowdy" is my favorite monicker. My mindset is that if I'm getting involved in anything, I'm going to make some noise doing it
Cheers

OMG, I haven't done traditional in quite some time but the PrismaColor TurQuoise 2mm Lead Holder has been my favorite for traditional pencils forever. I went through a lot before I found the TQ. It has such a great feel and I actually enjoy sharpening it. There is nothing quite like it. My close second has been the Koh-I-Noor Woodless Pencil.
Welcome to SVS Rowdy!

@BradAYoo Thanks!
I actually have a couple of o Koh-I-Noors too! I'm a big guy so they are a little too small for my hands. The built-in sharpener is a nice touch though (if you can get it to work)
Of the Koh-I-Noor pencils I have, my favorite is this BEASTIE. The 5.6mm lead is just massive.
The Gioconda graphite leads are a pleasure to work with and just as good if not better than the Prismacolor ones.

Yay! Welcome!!! Can't wait to see your work!
