JUNE CONTEST: Meet Albert!
-
@Oana Love love love the colored pencil texture!
-
Does anyone else remember the Albert the Running Bear book series back in the 1980s? Albert wore a red jogging suit and his friend Violet wore a (violet) workout outfit. I bought all my nieces the stuffed bears that went along with the books.
-
okay Peeps, I made an entry using traditional mediums and then finished it in photoshop instead of my usual starting digital in procreate. I also tried to keep desaturated in color (which is really hard for me). What do you think?
-
@kylebeaudette Omg I love him...
-
@kylebeaudette He is adorable! I love the look he has on while sitting at the school desk . a bit dazed and bored, and then how his face lights up when he's walking (leaving school ?) So much personality!
-
@amandalo thank you! I tried to get his face as expressive as I could by drawing quickly and undoing it until I liked what I had.
@cianamacaroni merci! -
@K-Flagg Funny fellow His eye color pops nicely now on the neutral base colors! Maybe the poses need a bit more construction or perspective? There are two details I noticed: in the walking pose, the head seen in profile shows the teeth in curious positions, maybe you could verify the construction and perspective of the shapes? likeways the one from behind.. there is something off there... And I know it's a minor thing, but the purple triangle's lines are not continuous behind his arm and my brain keeps wanting to fix it
-
@K-Flagg this is great, love the colors this time!
-
@Oana this is the thread for finished pieces so feedback/critique isn’t necessary at this point unless you’re just admiring someone’s stuff
-
@Asyas_illos Oh! Thank you for pointing that to me!! I see that now
-
-
Albert Otterman!
-
@K-Flagg I think your textures and colors are phenomenal! And I love how chunky he is!

This post is deleted! -
@baileyvidler thank you! I think this prompt is going to make us all die of cuteness overload haha.
-
@Oana thanks, I did already submit it but I appreciate your feedback
-
Could someone please help me understand what a “neutral pose” means? Like not too much action? Arms down? Legs straight? Or can it include an action that the character is doing?
-
@KathrynAdebayo I was thinking about this in the middle of the night last night! The prompt mentions that the character would be made into an animated series and a soft toy. I've had a few book characters made into stuffed toys, and I seem to remember the manufacturer wanted just simple, arms down, not much action in a pose so they could get an more accurate idea of what they lookk like without the distractions of movement and and limbs with foreshortening, that kind of thing. My initial sketches had my character waving, so I'm planning on changing that to just both arms down. Maybe it's not a big deal, but just my experience.
