Getting back into drawing

Hi guys! I am new to this community and I'd like to reach out for recommendations and pointers. I have always wanted to learn how to draw and how to become an illustrator. My grandfather was a graphic designer and he always tried to teach me how to draw. At the moment I am trying to develop a video game company and I want to teach myself (with the help of this course) how to draw and how to create characters and such. As a beginner with little experience, what can I do to become a good illustrator and be able to draw my characters and landscape? Any help is appreciated!
