        @kylebeaudette

        Nice banner...it's all glowy and shows a range of your characters. I like how you have some of the materials you use on either side

        Is there a reason you went with ArtofKyleBeaudette instead of KyleBeaudette or even KyleBeadetteArt?

        "I sell original sculptures and paintings." Nope. Toss in something more exact. Star War inspired, hand crafted, monsters, fantasy art, even the mighty OOAK might get you more hits.

        I went to Etsy about half an hour after you posted this, and you were already up to four sales..that 's awesome! But please don't undersell yourself, especially with free shipping and Etsy fees...

            @RachelArmington Good advice! Totally putting Ooak somewhere! 'ArtofKyleBeaudette' is just a straightforward catch-all, I don't know why I chose it. I didn't want something like 'Creepy Characters' or whatever.
            Yes I'm up to like 5 sales now, it's been pretty good so far. Am I underselling? Do you mean I should raise my prices?

              @kylebeaudette I noticed that you lowered the price of your warrior statue (I thought $200 was great price, especially including shipping)...and I also have friends in Canada who have mentioned how costly mailing is up there...and I also know the sagging excitement when I see the fees subtracted after a sale.

              In my mind, your 3D art is comparable to OOAK fairy sculptures...not the ones with push-mold faces, but the ones hand sculpted. Those generally run around $200 to $400. And yours are way-more unique in that you're not following a model (model in that people have a basic idea of what a fairy looks like). You're kind of creating a whole world as well, as in, where would this creature live?

              Are you using stable/archival materials? I only ask because my first puppets were papier-mache and cotton directly on tree branches, which didn't age well. If I were still selling those, I would charge less than ones made to last.

                @RachelArmington I upped my pricesπŸ˜…πŸ™Œ

                I saw what people from the US were seeing, and upped it so they'd see the Canadian amount I had been seeing (50 dollars for most of the paintings).

                The sculpts are done with epoxy and sculpey. They can last forever with proper care, or a lifetime anyways.
                The sculpts are a very different thing. They sell, but it's so rare to find a buyer. I usually make them for my art heroes (I'm hoping Tony DiTerlizzi buys the one that is up now, as it's very inspired by Spiderwick/his general vibeπŸ˜…)
                Ive auctioned off some to regular customers in the past for amounts ranging between 200 and 500 US dollars. Sometimes the ones I think are worth the least sell for the most and vice versa. Which is to say, pricing them is a tricky tricky game...

                      @aska thank you, yes I was really surprised to see so many sales in my first week. I was hopeful it would go that way, but not confident!
                      Etsy has been good so far, but when you're new they hold on to most of the money you make for a while to ensure you're not a scammer or something. That's kind of frustrating.

                          @ruth thank you!
                          It's been successful. I think it has to do with my following online for sure, but also the fact that I'm only offering original art. No prints, no copies, no pins, no stickers. Original art only!
                          I don't see a lot of people doing that
