I use clip studio paint(sometimes photoshop) and I want to make a goal to understand drawing digital. I'm new to the forums so any advice would help for brushes that would be a good start for me if you guys have suggestions.

If you're a member to SVS theres a course/class where there was a Ink/Pencil set for Photohsop (Now works for Clip studio as well) to download. Not sure which one it was. I have them, but not sure If I should directly share it.

@EdHarveyJr If you are focused on drawing digitally and line art, I think several of the standard Clip Studio brushes are good places to start. I personally move between the Rough Pencil and the newest Pencil (from latest version of Clip). The default inking brushes are all pretty effective as well. Of the built in set I typically gravitate to the Mapping and G Pen, although I use a custom designed set as well.

I have had mixed results with Photoshop brushes imported into Clip Studio. For inking and pencil I generally prefer the native Clip brushes or after market brushes targeted to Clip.

Hi @EdHarveyJr, I recall in one of Jake’s inking tutorials that he uses Kyle brushes.

Nonetheless, I think any brush will do just fine with a lot of practice.

@Jeremy-Ross Thanks, I will check out those set of brushes. I found the video "Drawing Robots and Machinery" where Jake mentions in the demo where he's drawing Rocket Raccoon's weapon and he said they were storyboard brushes that someone had posted. I like the ink lines and I was curious where they were from.
