Working on getting down a character for a friends story about her grandmother and the special doll she got for one Christmas.
Trying hard to keep it loose and messy, which is a challenge with digital when there is no excuse for less than perfect, lol.

The first assignment of the illustration course I started last week was to answer the question what my relationship to illustration looks like. There are so much to explore, learn and see!

Preping for Inktober
️Back again with these two kids. Trying to push myself to draw full illustrations and characters with backgrounds. Aaaaaahhh we’ll see how it goes

@kylebeaudette The colors seem brighter in this one!
-
@demotlj Do you have any print shops near where you live? I have one a few miles from where I live that scans my watercolors when needed, and they are ridiculously affordable.
-
@RachelArmington Unfortunately I don’t. The nearest one would be an hour and a half from me. If I was trying to sell prints it might be worth my time but for ordinary posts etc I have to make do with what I can do on my own. I just ordered a new scanner — maybe that will help.

@RachelArmington probably just a filter

Hi ! I'm a new student at SVS. Right now, I'm working on an illustration that is the first project that I do since I have finished the "How to Draw Everything" class. I'm not a beginner in drawing but it was very very interesting to revisit the basic stuff. And... I just learned that if I want to do Inktober, I need to prepare some pre-sketching.
-
@kylebeaudette Ah! I used to have a serious addiction to New Gamboge and Vermilion and thought I recognized them.
-
@kylebeaudette I. Love. This.
-
Drew this on World Alpaca Day. Wondering I'd maybe develop this further, and use it for this month's contest and / or Inktober...

Sketching my Inktober characters. Inspired by everyone’s September entry

I've been working on the same book project all summer, and it has been quite exhausting (especially since it feels like I'm only half-way finished or so). So this week I decided to have a break and draw just for fun for the first time in several months. And this is the result. With this one, I had the interesting challenge that I used to know how to draw bubbles, but now I had completely forgotten how I used to do it.

Just a boy and his ink-covered otter companion, sketching all the dangerous flora and fauna of the underwood.
