Day 6 of Inktober - "Spirit"
I know, I know - NOT a character design. But y'know, it sort of is?
No, it's not, but this scene illustrates a dynamic between two key characters in my comic. This is what came to mind with the prompt "spirit".
Lovely Inktober pieces, folks! Keep it up! Week 1 is almost done!

This is for the prompt Crystal. I decided to take this opportunity to illustrate the source of magic in the world my novel takes place. This magic crystal is hidden on a mountain top, and converts moonlight into magic. The magic is collected and stored for later use. All of the magical people in the frost pirates world use this magic to maintain the balance of nature on earth. The crystal used to produce enough magic that people could use the surplus for other things that weren't related to nature. Things that made their lives easier, things that gave them power, etc. However, with the development of humankind, advancements in industry, and global warming, it takes more magic to keep the earth healthy. The people in charge had to limit magic use to only necessary tasks. This caused friction among the magical population. Some of the people want their power back... this is where the story begins.

Well I don't know about you guys but I'm certainly having a great time this #inktober !
I'm doing all 31 prompts into one large illustration
This year I decided to go with a 'Pumpkin Farm' / 'Pumpkin Patch' theme.

This was an exercise in GOOD NUFF

I could have perfected it if I'd spent more time on it, but I'm keeping strict with the "1 piece per day" rule.
Speedpainting is a skill.
Speedpainting in a way that looks like inking is also a skill.
I am learning. A. Lot.
