I switched from Photoshop over to Clip Studio Paint EX (CSP) several years ago. I feel like I have a pretty solid understanding of the software. I work both on the iPad and Desktop fairly regularly. The one part of CSP that I am not that familiar with is the comic book section. Has anyone ever done a children’s book entirely in CSP? My plan is to do just this.

@doodlemick Hi, I use it and I have started a comic project using the layout features but I haven't finished yet. I learned about it from @Braden-Hallett since he made a video that included some info on that at one point. Here is the video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_3VU9vEQ70

Hopefully that will help a little 😃

I've done a couple of kid's books entirely in CSP.

In that video the only big mistake I make is incorrectly labelling the version. I SAID I was using CSP pro, but I was actually using CSP EX. Pro is the basic version, EX is the pro version. Which is weird...

Yeah, CSP works great for kid's book.

@braden-hallett May bad, it’s CSP EX.
              Great to hear this works

              Thank You

This is how I feel any time I go to Starbucks. Just give me the medium... whatever the hell name you wanna call it, just give me the medium one!

@DoodleMick Also, one of the more recent SVS Podcasts with Cam Kendell mentioned he exclusively uses CSP on both platforms so I'd say you're in good company.

Thank You. Looks like I may finally be in at the right site.

@DoodleMick I'm about to make the leap into CSP after being a long-time Illustrator and Photoshop user. Did you find the transition from PS to CSP pretty easy? I'm guessing they have a pretty similar interface.

I'm in the middle of my free 30 days of CSP and trying to decide if I'll switch over. I noticed there are tons of tutorials, do any regular CSP users have specific YouTube channels or other resources they would recommend?

@emily-atwood-art It might be obvious but the Clip Studio Paint channel(until recently known as Graphixly) is an exceptional resource for Clip Studio tutorials.

@emily-atwood-art One other useful note is that they added a new liquify tool a week or two ago that is similar to Procreate's implementation. It's a pretty huge addition in my opinion.

@lizardillo The difference between PS and CSP is minimal. CSP doesn’t have all the tricks that PS has as in filters and stuff like that, but it has a much better brush engine. I like it much better then PS. Hopefully you will too.

@jeremiahbrown YES, the liquify tool is nice, but I didn’t see myself using it as much as I had thought I might. I do use it occasionally though.

@doodlemick that's good to hear. I no longer do any photo retouching so it's the brush engine I'm most interested in. Thank you 👍
