Hello everyone,

My name is Luísa Furukawa and I'm from Brazil I want to do an early apology for my english, hope not to do any big mistakes

So, I didn't know I had to do an introduction, I was reading the topics for some days and then I realized that I have to do this!

Like I said before, I'm from Brazil, married (and my husband is an artist too!) and I've been drawing since I was little. I always loved manga, anime, animation, but I never knew what I really wanted to do for life. I'm still trying to find out.

I liked to draw stories, comics, do concept of my characters, but here in Brazil don't have colleges for this. If I want a education with a bit of illustration and animation I have to study Graphic Design or Fine Arts.
And...I never went to college, I studied by myself and my husband that did Fine Arts teaches me too.

My husband works with animation and I loved the making of it, specially storyboards and I worked with it for some time, but I feel like it's missing something. I love storyboards, but for 2D animation series I can't be more creative with compositions because of the budget.

And then, I tried to study more about illustration and concept art. I have a dear friend called Kami who showed me SVS and the 3rd Thursdays Contest. I loved the hangout, learned so much and I will participate more this year

Welcome, I think SVS is a step in the right direction for you... so much to learn. Without sounding bias because I am a subscriber, I find that is the best way to get the most from this site, because it gives you access to all the classes. And I am not sure where you want to start out. You have a very nice sense of color and design, but there is always more to learn, no?

3rd Thursdays are great fun and promote problem solving, community building and friendship and you learn so much from other people's work and the critiques by Will, Jake and Lee. Love the wolf and the fox piece...

O Brasil esta cheio de illustradores superfinos. Eu conheci o trabalho de muitos deles mas nunca vi cosa alguma parecida com o seu adorável trabalho. Tudo o que posso dizer é que você tem uma influência "japa" inegável, e muito bem sucedida

Eu tenho uma influência enorme de animes/mangás haha sempre ouvi falar de outros artistas que isso era ruim e eu deveria encontrar um estilo meu Enfim, eu aceitei que meu estilo é assim mesmo haha

Thank you! I came here to learn more about illustration because it's so much different than a composition of storyboards. I have to tell in one image a lot of things and this is so difficult! It's another way to think about, every detail is important Hope to learn with everyone here in SVS Forum :))
