@StudioHannah I actually like skulls well enough too. I guess my problem is that skulls and flowers make up like 90% of tattoos! I'd love to see more creativity there.

@Asyas_illos I am all for that! I actually have one I have designed, but I'm scared to get it because I'm scared I'll hate it after 2 years!

@Lee-White i could recomend many many artist not making a living in the Tattoo business with Skulls and Flowers.

i will leave two of my favorites here 🙂

I can't remeber when i made a skull or flowers XD
I could make a ton of money with Lighthouses and Kraken.
It's part of the all time never gets old ideas clients always come up with. Asking if you ever tattooed a lighthouse before....no never ever not even the 100 times before, neeeever.

I would love some more creative ideas from my clients, but they want what they want...don't they.

The culture and the history of tattoos is crazy and the skulls and flowers has always been of importance, not only in the Tattoobusiness.
I don't know who is to blame though. That people want what they mostly see?
And i guess the first thing you see when you type in Tattoos in Google will be Skulls, Roses, Lions, Compass (I tried to google it and thats what i got in the picture search XD)...it is how it is.

@Lee-White I'm just typing here to clear my own brain, not necessarily arguing 😉 Ignore at will.

I get that, but every person's body is its own unique canvas, so if you have the same tattoo as other people? It's still the only one of that tattoo on YOU. It's still unique to YOU, and the style is unique to the artist that did it on you. If you like flowers and skulls, you shouldn't hold off on getting one because of a fear of it being cliche. And for those who think it's cliche and they want something more unique, that's cool. I just hate the idea of someone genuinely liking something and not getting it because they think they'll come off as uncreative. We wear the same styles of clothing all the time, but it's how we wear them on our unique bodies that makes them us.

@Lee-White said in No More Skull Tattoos!:

                    scared

A friend of mine changed my mind on designing my own tattoo. I'd never actually considered the fact that I am my own worse critic and I would stand a very good chance of regretting my design choice years, months, hell even days later. No different than I tend to feel in my own art, the same feelings that also push me to do and be better may work against me if I have it tattooed on me. Far less of a chance of regretting or feeling I could do better if I pick art I already love by an artist I admire.

@StudioHannah hi hannah, thanks for the response. I TOTALLY AGREE with what you are saying here. If someone REALLY wants flowers/skulls, then they absolutely should go for it. My real point was exactly that. People getting what they really want instead of defaulting to a skull or flower. If everyone got the thing they felt passionate about, the subject matter would be much more varied and interesting.

Hi @Norman-Morana, agree with @miranda-hoover, such a great piece! I saw the Cat for Lee, the Penguin for Will, and of course Skull Chaser for Jake. Really good!
