      @lucy_gow Oh wow, this looks incredible, I think you nailed it!! If I was illustrating a project that used this farmyard scene from multiple different angles, it'd be really handy to have a 3D model of this. I remember watching Kenneth Anderson illustrate a house interior (here's the scene), and he manipulated a 3D staircase into it to get the right perspective, and I was like, "Gah!! That's so clever!!"

        @Meekipink Oh, thank you!

        I think a 3d model would make it a lot easier on my brain. I had a go at making a 3d model in Blender, using the map as a guide. I tried to line it up the same as my version.

        I think I spotted some of my mistakes - I got a bit muddled about what was one unit wide and what was one-and-a-half at some stage. Oh well! I might try to fix it tomorrow when I'm not so tired. 🙂

              This is my drawing after completing the Practical Perspective course. It was surprisingly fun to do this.

              I changed things to make them a bit more like an Australian farm that's pretty old (I thought it'd have to be old to match the windmill). So, the roof of the house is corrugated iron. Also, we don't typically have cellars so I made the extra bit of the house be a kitchen with an oven chimney. Also, I changed the silo to a water tank, because I figured the water from the windmill would have to go somewhere. I don't understand how windmills work.

              I was a bit lazy with the fence and adding tone, and everything. This still took me ages.

                @lucy_gow A really great drawing Lucy- I am still stuck at the figure drawing level on gestures, you are really moving through the courses. I hope to catch up soon as it is my holiday from University.

                  @PenAndrew Thanks! You'll be here soon enough. Pretty much the only drawing I've been doing lately is these assignments, which I've been trying to work through consecutively. Hopefully the learning will stick. I'm really looking forward to Visual Storytelling!

                    @lucy_gow Yes I just didn't have the time while I was teaching and I wanted to complete my first finished pieces in years for the competition. So, now I have achieved that I will return to the courses and work for them, as well as working on developing my own comics.

                      @lucy_gow Excellent! Love that you localized the farmyard to what would be appropriate to Australia!
