hey guys! i have a blog for my art but i was considering creating a second one for my personal picture book project. i have been working on it nearly every day. should i share my unpublished work, even though it's copyrighted? it has been really fun "work" and i am thinking that it might be interesting for others to see how it's coming along. there is so much i can do with this potential blog, but wanted to know what you guys thought...
thank you for your opinions i value them greatly!
      be well and creative!!!

@jennmaynard73 Blogging about your work and art is always a great idea if it’s something you’re passionate about ^.^ Even better if you can incorporate video.

It depends. Are you thinking of branching out solely into children’s books to make a dedicated blog for that topic, or is this a one-time thing? If you’re hoping to make a series then it could be a good idea to make a blog/channel solely dedicated to that. But if you’re hoping to get people interested in you and your art in general, it makes sense to keep everything under one brand name (you!).

As for copyrighted material, be very careful about that and only share work your client is happy for others to see.

@jennmaynard73 Ok, I take it back! I just had a look at your art and IT IS CRAZY AMAZING!!! You’ve gone through the effort of having your own professional website showcasing all your best work - don’t you dare start all over somewhere else!! Keep everything on your website, including a clear link to any new blogs you make (I can’t seem to find the previous blog you were talking about on your website?).

I also really think you should consider video blogging if you’re hoping to reach a wider audience and position yourself as an expert in your field. But blogging is a great move too - I’d love to see more of how you work!

@jennmaynard73 I would suggest keeping it together, though having looked at your website you have quite a few tabs, so If you want to make it more visible maybe you could highlight the tab.

I love your traditional paintings and sketches on your site.

@PenAndrew hey thanks! that's a great suggestion about the blog tab...i'm currently revamping my site and tabs are a big re-do, so thanks for the suggestion!

Judging by your other post you appear concerned about the safety of your story, or perhaps this is a different project? If you’re worried about theft and copyright issues, then sharing a big project might not be the best approach. But if you’re not then blog away! Or vlog away! Put yourself out there!
