Your Favorite SVS Electives
-
I've been working on drawing fundamentals almost exclusively for a little while now, and while it has been good to gain confidence and dexterity, it's also feeling a little dry and dull at times. I'd like to incorporate something light, fun, and off-the-path, maybe ease off the fundamentals stuff a bit around the holidays.
That got me curious: What are your favorite single courses on SVS? What are the ones that you got the most juice out of? Or the ones that everyone should check out, no matter what they're into? If we knew the power grid was going out in 60 days, or SVS was falling into a hole, what are the must-try "bucket list" classes from your point of view? (There's probably a nicer way to phrase that—I'm sure SVS won't fall into a hole!)
I was thinking Electives, but it could be a Foundations class too. For example, mine (so far) would be Lee's Light and Shadow course.
Interested to hear what you guys think, and to see if there are any classes that are on lots of people's lists!

@Ryan-C I know what you mean about being dry and dull at moments, sometimes the guys would put me to sleep literally lol, but I still would enjoy it at a later time.(don’t hate me for saying that guys!) some of my personal favorites include will terrys magic of color, unique and appealing character designs by Anna Davis court, creating custom color palettes with yas imamura, how to plan and complete a big illustration project by Anna Davis court is another good one.

@Ryan-C I got a lot out of Lees class on finding your style. I’m not sure if it’s called that. But, it was a nice break from learning basics to look at art that I love from other people, analyze it, and do some master studies. That way I’m working on the art that looks like the art I want to make, even if it’s not mine yet. I also feel like it taught me a lot very quickly.

@Asyas_illos @Pamela-Fraley @Stephanie-H Thanks! I'm glad to hear your opinions/suggestions here—excited to check these out! Stephanie, good call on master studies—this seems like such a fruitful and fun thing to do, but I keep pushing it to the back of my plate.
