what do you think? I am having trouble thinking of a background... ideas?!

Could you give some more information about the world these characters live in? That might be helpful for choosing a backdrop for their battle.

They are very detailed, so something that wouldn't draw attention away from the characters would probably work.

@Stephanie-H I was thinking about a forest but I cant justify them being there considering they are futuristic ninja. I have been playing around with the idea of a village or city. Keep in mind this is a type of splash art.

@Kori-Jensen could be anything. Space ships/space, a canyon, floating cars. But why not a forest? Is there no space for forests in the future? Or maybe mechanical forests? To mimmick oxygen production when the real forests died out?

@Kori-Jensen could be some kind of Bio-dome? So futuristic forests but the dome shapes will simplify the silhouette and perspective for you. Google Singapore's Flower Dome and Cloud Forest for reference

@Kori-Jensen At first glance I read this scene as being high in the air, and thought clouds would look awesome. Or maybe some distant sky scrapers and clouds? But yes, some context of where they are and what they're fighting for would help!

@Kori-Jensen This immediately made me think of Super smash bros. Its on my brain because my kids play it all the time. I agree, it looks high up. Clouds and things would be super cool.
