Character design for Lady Skunk (she is the sassy friend)
-
@Elizabeth-Rose Love all your characters!!
-
@ArtistErin thanks! They are fun to draw up
-
And here we have an introduction to Little Miss Lady Raccoon. I think I’ll try redoing her paws holding the parasol though. They seem not quite right to me. Anybody else feel that way too?
-
@Elizabeth-Rose I found some images and thought they resembled somewhat the look you are after, would this help? If they were delicate and ladylike to match your character's demeanor that would make more sense I think.
-
@ArtistErin Oh, Thank you! Those are helpful!
-
And here I introduce to you. Miss Mulberry Gen. She is the rascally friend out of Little Squirrels friends.
-
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope it’s been a wonderful week.
I’ve not been able to figure out what to name Little Squirrel’s friend Miss little Sassy Sunk. So I’ve asked for suggestions on social media and I’ve gotten a wonderful collection of sassy names.
Here is the list I’ve picked and mixed from all the name suggestions:
- Dandelion Pearl
- Daisy Lace
- Scarlet Bell
- Violet Antonella
- Holly Daphne
- Gwendolyn Rose
Everyone feel free to vote your favorite name bellow! I will also be gathering votes from my social medias too.
-
@Elizabeth-Rose I like nr 2 and 6. 2 is the easiest to read out loud. I always find it hard to name. Our cat was called cat...
-
@Elizabeth-Rose Daisy Lace gets my vote.
-
@Chantal-Goetheer Hahaha, your cat’s name is Cat? That’s awesome. I know, naming can be so hard sometimes.
@Jean-Watson Alrighty! Daisy Lace as two votes so far!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose haha yes. Obi wan Kenobi didn't stick . And at some point we had two cats and one was cat (poes in Dutch) and the other one little cat (poesje). Luckily we never had more than two.
-
@Chantal-Goetheer Hahaha! At least it’s a good story to tell!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose I love how these have come out!
-
@Elizabeth-Rose I’m partial to Gwendolyn Rose. It happens to be my daughter’s name!
-
@ArtistErin Thanks! I’m getting really excited about this book project!
@kirsten-mcg What?! That’s your daughters name! I must say, it’s a beautiful name indeed

Little Squirrel officially has a name!
It’s been a real challenge naming her because she represents me when I was a kid.My middle name is Rose, so I’ve played around with the name Rosie, or Basil Rose or something similar. But then a few weeks ago, a friend of mine blurted out, “how bout Rosemary?”
It was perfect. I like that it’s an old fashioned name. Rosemary is also one of my favorite herbs too! It’s the secret ingredient to my summer homemade tomato soup.Rosemary’s personality: She is shy and quiet but in contrast she is a natural leader and is always looking for ways to help her friends. She is a deep thinker, loves creativity, gardening and tea parties. She enjoys learning and trying new things, but sometimes finding herself learning and trying things the hard way. She has an open mind, yet is highly loyal to her morals.
-
@Elizabeth-Rose You know what's cool since we're talking about our names, my middle name is Elizabeth! My grandparents would say in such a beautiful way, "Erin Elizabeth!!" and smile, I loved my middle name the most because of that.
-
@ArtistErin Oh! That’s so cool! There is something so special about how loved one’s say ones names. Such a happy memory

I’ll be working on these three spreads this month.
