Experimenting with perspective, feedback wanted
-
Hello, I'm trying to get back into illustration. I've said a million times that I would, but a lot of things would get in the way. I think it's better to take baby steps.
I'm experimenting with perspective and character design. I've been inspired by all the alternative fashions on Tiktok and Instagram, I thought I should make my own OC. How are the pose and perspective? It's supposed to be wide at the feet and narrow towards the head. The hand is in an outreached position, so it's larger but the arm is foreshortened.
Am I to a good start?

@Michael-Angelo-Go I think you should try laying down the perspective grid first. Right now your character is lacking in overlapping shapes to show forshortening, and proportions are skewed. The waist looks to be the same size as the calf which wouldn't be plausible. I like the angle, I think you would benefit though from putting in your perspective grid and drawing boxes for where you're characters figure should be according to the worms eye view

@Michael-Angelo-Go this is a tough angle! It’s looking pretty good though. I think on the head you probably need to show more underneath the chin, unless of course she’s looking down. I did a quick draw over.
