I think I know what you mean: I sometimes have harsh criticism for my current work, then a few days later I like it much more. I can see the good stuff more clearly? On the other hand, if I look at my illustrations from a year ago I cringe like mad - but maybe that's because I'm still only beginning. -

Noticed one 1 star review that said the book was grooming children and teaching them to say bad words like Pickle and Bottom..... So I'm glad you like the name.
