Going from traditional painting to digital painting. Any tips for this drawing?

@Jason-Bowen I would hate to be that worm.
I have found that working digital from a more traditional way of doing things can be a daunting change.
I started out with pastels and changed my primary medium to digital. Because of the forgiving nature of pastel over say something like water color, which I also have experience with, digital reminds me of something more like pastel.
Id say play with the program your using and see what is possible. The videos here on SVS Learn are a great start.
In the chicks mouth.I can see your starting to blend more, the rest of the image is much more flat.
Try experiments too. See what you can do with just the brush tool or limit your self to just using blues.
I found when I started using digital the best thing was to just to play around with it.

Thanks for the tips, I've been using mischief which I like, but I think I need to move to photoshop as well after watching some tutorials here.

I also used to work traditionally in watercolor and pastel. i found that the SVS class called "10 steps to digital painting" really helpful, they also have a beginning Photoshop class. I am working on making my own watercolor textures and I found a set of Photoshop brushes that mimic the look of pastels. I have a ways to go, but I'm improving.

In addition to what everyone else said, check http://www.ctrlpaint.com/ Has a lot of good videos in regards to digital painting. But you have to play around with the brush settings in photoshop to get the painting feel. Or you can invest in paintstorm (software I came to know about last week), it has really nice textured brush system.
