I'm with Lee on the whole never doing a school visit thing
Also, regarding the video games angle, that just so happens to be what I've decided to do for the next year (or 4) - work on an indie game with a friend (instead of focusing on writing picture books and building a portfolio). If your game's good you can earn a lot, so there's potential there. It's a lot more work than a picture book, but for those who play games: who didn't dream of making them as a kid?

@Jason-Crowley That sounds like fun! What kind of game are you working on? app, computer, something that can work with a game system?

Im selling watercolour and ink drawings of animals having diarrhea on Etsy, they sell pretty quick. People are weird, I guess.

@kylebeaudette OMG, thats so funny

@kayleenartlover A video game action platformer with rhythm elements is the plan. The goal to start with is Steam (PC), then if some kind of miracle occurs and there is demand there would be the option of porting to console.
