Basic Perspective Final Project

I just finished the Basic Perspective course with @davidhohn . Thank you, David, for putting together such a helpful course. The final project was so fun! I have never drawn an interior room scene from a plan before. I love interior illustrations in picture books and now I understand much more about how to compose one from my own imagination. My goal was to get the dimensions correct and "carve in" some actual objects as you show in your examples.
Side note -- I noticed an inconsistency in the project plans: the width of the window is 4 units wide in the isometric view and in the wall view it is 3 units wide. -
@Erin-Hawkins really good stuff. I love the bed especially. Perspective is tricky, particularly in the beginning but you've done a great job. Drawing is my favourite part of the illustration process, and perspective is one of the most important things to master.

@MarcRobinson thank you for the encouragement. I did the project in pencil because I had to erase a lot mistakes
Plus it's all I've got right now -- I don't know digital drawing yet.I hope this doesn't sound creepy (oops too late) -- I found your work on Instagram and wow, it's so fun, dynamic, and really polished too. The "end of the road" piece you did is awesome, love that S composition and the balance you achieved with two different important story elements happening simultaneously.
It looks like you start some of your work with mechanical pencil. I really have no idea what my process is going to be as I'm just starting out. I do want to learn the digital process, but there is something nice about simple pencil.

@Erin-Hawkins Nicely done! Keep going with the courses -- the "carving in" gets even more detailed in future classes. But it all relies on the information you've mastered here.

@Erin-Hawkins yes very creepy and never speak to me again. Only joking! That's very kind of you. Traditional pencil is the best so it's great you're starting there. It's too easy to get trapped in the technical aspect of digital illustration, so doing it the real way is smart. I'm leaning more and more into using traditional media for my illustrations, as I always do a pencil drawing before painting in Photoshop. But I'll be breaking out the real paints again soon! Keep it up, you're doing great. I'm always open to answering questions on drawing if you or anyone needs advice.

@MarcRobinson Ha! Thanks for your perspective on working in pencil, that's good to hear that it might actually be the better way to learn for now. I like the aspect of being off screens for a chunk of my day, too. I'm excited for you to get into your real paints again and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes you!

@davidhohn thank you for the encouragement. I really enjoyed this course and I'm excited to keep going. I plan on doing the entire curriculum, so I think I'll see you again in the Level 3 perspective courses. I tried another angle from the same plan -- I'm not sure I got the cat right but it was good to challenge myself with a point of view that was tricky for me. Looking forward to more practice with this kind of thing!
