Hi everyone, as a 9-5 employee that has to carve tieme to do creative work I would like to share my feedback on this tool.
I used Jake’s planner to focus my creative time and managed to finish my novel
The first quarter asks for a focus and I wrote “writing routine” as I need to know how I write and measure how much I take.
The individual months where for writing, editing, and revising. And I found out that I do write fast, but the edit is slow so the edit and revision merged together
I had added a timeline for making a cover but it didnt fit in the end as I only have a couple hours in the morning. So now I know that for illustration I do need a dedicated time slot

Now the second quarter focus is “create to promote” in which I planned each month to finish and publish a 5-8 page webcomic (stroogle.xyz) on my substack and use that to then after each one promote my novella.
I already have done complete webcomics episodes in 30 days (inktober!!) so I know this is a good planned timeline and already have some ideas sketched

The planner was of great help to understand how much time it takes to do each step of my projects as I kept a log on it instead of a schedule, when I had the time I went to work and logged it.

The plan for the third quarter is to jump onto covers and spot illustrations for my novel (coming fresh of 90 days of doodles) and again get to writing and editing to cycle the write and create to promote each quarter

Now this doesnt mean you can only dedicate to the focus, but it helps to know you will have time for everything else later so you can still take some minutes everyday to drop ideas and notes and set it aside ad you get your most important task done that day
