        Nice job Jeremy!

With 50+ years of experience as an artist who began with analog techniques and transitioned to digital technology 30 years ago, I found a way to calm and settle myself.

        The Secret Garden.

        • Imagine your creative work as a "secret garden" where your unique ideas and efforts grow.
        • Use your "secret garden" as a source of inspiration and motivation, independent of external competition.
        • Focus on nurturing your unique talents and creative processes.
        • Celebrate the individuality and originality of your work, recognizing its inherent value.
        • Allow your creativity to flourish in its own time and space without pressure from external timelines.
        • Embrace the joy and fulfillment that comes from creating rather than the need to compete.
        • Recognize that your creative contributions are distinct and valuable, regardless of others' achievements.

Hi @thomas-young , thank you! I love that idea! I feel like the secret garden also cultivates timelessness and flow state in a safe area. Good stuff!

@Jeremy-Ross, your newsletter has made me reflect a great deal on the value of having the proper mindset. I developed the concept of the secret garden to counter the anxiety I felt, fearing others would beat me to market with their ideas.

The reasons I have for keeping secrets:

              • Protect my new ideas while in the delicate, embryonic stage.
              • Recognize that early concepts are vulnerable and need time to mature before exposure.
              • Shield my creative work from the premature critique that could hinder its development.
              • Understand that well-intentioned feedback can sometimes crush an idea before it fully forms.
              • Only when my ideas are ripe and ready should they be shared or presented.
              • Prepare my work for the market by packaging and protecting it to prevent theft or damage.
              • In a capitalist society, safeguarding my intellectual property is essential to maintaining its value.
              • Cultivate patience and discernment when deciding when to unveil my creative output.

Hi @thomas-young , the “why?” to the “but really, why?”, is an excellent way to dig deeper than surface reasoning. Sounds like you did just that!

I just noticed and listened to the 3PP Podcast on mindset on the drive home today and wanted to say my article was purely coincidental. I did enjoy it very much and glad to hear so much advice on the growth vs. fixed mindset.

                  Good stuff!
