Started over again on this. Using a method I read about in that Dan Santat article. Using a sepia tone on multiply layer for the shading and white on an overlay layer for the light.

@Jason-Kellogg Thanks:) Here's what I have so far I think it's finished. Might need to do some color adjustments but my eyes are shot from looking at the screen so long so I'll have to look at it tomorrow.
