June 3rd Thursday

Hello! I am new to SVS and wanted to start a sketch for my first 3rd Thursday Comp. My idea right now is a little ballerina who would rather rock out on her air guitar. I just started on the rough sketch composition, but one of the first things I've learned from SVS videos has been to make sure my composition is right before I get too attached to anything. I would love some input on how to make it better! Thank you guys so much!
PS: I know the hands are not there - I just squiggled them in really fast.

Nice start it's going to be hilarious.

Great idea. I didn't get air guitar at first, maybe if you stretch out her left arm more so it looks like it is on the fret board. Also welcome to SVS!

Nice! I really like idea and execution, and the drawings are wonderfully expressive!
The composition is also great, have you tried flipping it? I just did, and it might read better, it seems to put the main character front and center as you read it left to right, then you see the other girl's reaction. Could flip keep the main girl the same and flip the rest also. Something to think about, love the piece so far!

I like this, really cool. I know this is a rough but the girls all look different ages... I would also extend the arm so it looks more like an air guitar... great idea...

@evilrobot Thank you so much!
@Chip-Valecek Thank you for the welcome! And oooh good point - I was wondering how to get the air guitar expression to come through better. I think you're suggestion will do the trick!
@natiwata I hadn't even thought about that but your suggestion makes so much sense. I can definitely see how it flows from the main character to the other figures better. Thank you so much for the suggestion!
@Russ-Van-Dine Good point - I hadn't even thought about ages really. Now I will definitely make sure to pay attention to that when I do the lineart! Thanks!
