Pricing or going rate for middle grade books?

Does anyone know what the going rate is for earnings on a middle grade book? Both illustration, cover and text design as a lot of middle grade these days include font design as well. It would be for a small mainstream publisher. I read somewhere between $7000 and $12,000!

@Takara-Beech I don't think there is one' good answer to your question. It depends on the publishing house, and the country your in. For example the states is so much bigger than where I live (The Netherlands). The amount of copies is totally different, that makes the price. Decide for yourself what you need te earn to make it a fair price. You don't want to work full time for months on a project for a view hundred dollars.

@Leontine It really is simple isn't it, whatever the clients budget is and whatever you're prepared to work for is the going rate
