My current project is a counting book with chickens. I've done thumbnails, I've tried comps but it always comes down to me having to do it big and then redraw a million times to get it right. Maybe because I'm getting old and it's easier to see big 🙂 Anyway, these are my first two rough pages. I think the cow might be too big and of course, I need a lot more practice on the characters but I would love any feed back on composition, improvements on awkward drawing skills, etc. Thank you!

BTW, the girl is supposed to be standing on her toes..any tips for making that look better?

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen I can already see some things. Left foot too big, udder is overlapping the belly too much, the pants are too tight on Uncle Carl.....this is going to be challenging 🙂

Made a few small modifications. It doesn't look as professional as many of yours but, it's where I am and what I do. Thanks!
