Suggestion please I want to upgrade my old Wacom tablet
-
I'm in the market for another drawing tablet. I use a iMac and I have had an old Wacom for years and I'm comfortable drawing with it. Problem is, Wacom stopped making drivers for their legacy products, at least this one.
I want to upgrade my old Wacom tablet. Maybe buy a used Wacom Intuos Pro 4 or 5. They are compatible with Photoshop CS6, and Wacom supports them with drivers for Mac.
I'm also considering a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Special Edition Graphics Tablet with Wireless Pen, but honestly I have no idea if this is a better option?
There are so many Wacom/Cintiq/Bamboo tablets these days that it's hard to choose. Any suggestions about what works for you would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium, and I love it! I upgraded two years ago when I decided to try digital painting properly...my previous tablet was a small entry level 2008 Wacom Bamboo. Those are the only two I've used, so I don't have much to compare with.
I use it with my iMac (or with laptop) and it works great. Everyone's different of course, and other artists here are really happy with their own favourites. But quality-wise it's been great (both tablet and pen have been carted about a bit, when I've stayed in other places and wanted the option to draw...) it's had a lot of use and two years later it's still fine.
Hope you find something you're happy with

I have an old PTK-640, which works great. The newer Wacom Intuos Pros still use the same pens, so if you come across an Intuos 4 or 5 tablet missing a pen, selling cheap on that account, you can just buy a brand new pen separately (which are around $80--I had to replace mine after an accidental fall). Just a suggestion if budget is a big concern. I'm sure the new Pros are fantastic, though!
