30 day WC challenge day 17-grayscale copy as per Lee White's advice!

So, I am trying to be a good student and listen to the advice I'm given
Lee suggesed that I quit working on my own stuff (mainly cows) during the rest of the 30 day challenge and start to copy other artists. First in grayscale and then in color. So, here is my first attempt! The book is one I bought in Japan over 30 years ago. It's title is Tsuru no Ongaeshi by Miyoko Mitsutani and illustrated by Chihiro Iwasaki. It was my dream back then to illustrate Children's books 
I used to tell the people in Japan, when I met them, that when I went back to America I was going to become a Children's Book Illustrator!
