Touchscreen options

Does anyone know if it's possible or efficient to use a desktop all-in-one touchscreen? They are relatively cheap, cheaper than a Wacom, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried this.

@bdyanne There would be no pressure sensitivity with the touch screen. It also does not come with a pen either. So it would be almost like taking your finger and drawing on your phone. If you are looking for a cheap alternative to a Wacom, there are some digital monitors out there that are half the price. I don't think they make the 19inch anymore. Then when my PC died I got the Microsoft Surface Book which I LOVE. I can take it anywhere and draw/paint.

@bdyanne There are some other brands as well out there. Will terry did a video on comparing them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esuMf94xUtE the one he tests in the video is similar to the monoprice one. They use the same software.

I have been using one of these for about 4 years and I love it. Cost was only about $500 Canadian back then but it was a great stepping stone

I tried out a Yiynova recently and it was very good.
I didn't keep it because after using it for awhile I wanted more portable since my desktop computer made it difficult to connect and disconnect the Yiynova everytime i wanted to use it.

If you go the route of a desktop/laptop/tablet/all-in-one do your research beforehand as only a few actually have a digitizer in the screen that allow for active stylus use (small pen tip types), even without pressure sensitivity. I made this mistake on my laptop. I found a HP Envy 2-in-1 touchscreen for a great price with the intent of being able to draw with it only to find out after I purchased it that it doesn't have a digitizer. The only stylus that will work are the big ones that mimic my finger. And Photoshop doesn't work by finger touch so I still need to plug in my tablet. If you go this route it's probably more time saving to only look at devices that advertise having pen capabilities. I hope you find what you're looking for!

I bought a XP-Pen Artist 22E Pro Pen display drawing tablet last year and it has been a joy to use. it features of 21.5" IPS Monitor , 1920 x 1080 (16:9) FHD resolution , 78% Adobe RGB color gamut . 8192 levels of pressure senstivity . I am a professional artist, and this lets me work much more efficiently. Even better, its fun to use.
I held off for nearly a decade on upgrading to a display tablet due to the massive cost of Wacom's Cintiq display tablet. The XP-Pen display tablet is actually the same or cheaper than Wacom's non-display Intuos Pro, while this tablet's quality is absolutely comparable. This tablet is even inexpensive enough for art students, without a noticeable drop in quality.
This tablet has been great! I've had it for a while and have not been disappointed. I’m a 3D modeler and this has been working great for my needs! I love its use in Zbrush. It's pressure sensitivity is fantastic and I like that the tablet only registers the pen. It does not register your touch.
After having tested this Artist 22E Pro drawing tablet monitor , I would recommend it to anyone with one exception. Already a fan of XP-Pen tablets, this display tablet makes me never want to go back to Wacom.

Also if you have an ipad that can use an apple pencil, you can get the astropad app for $30.
Admittedly I have never used it but seriously considering it at least to test it out and know.

Huion is a very good alternative to Wacom at a much lower price. Draw with Jazza has multiple reviews of different Huion models on his YouTube channel.

@bdyanne I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and it's great to draw on. It has an integrated pen with pressure sensitivity and you can download Autodesk.

@cytheria-keh The Huion Kamvas range is very good ,they have a laminated screen now which is nice and really nice pen pressure.I also have a XP pen 22HD for a few years which I loved but I there seems to be something wrong with the colour which I cant fix so long term I would not recommend it.
