If you already have some experience (which I think is apparent from your portfolio ;-)) the books by 3DTotal (Digital Painting Techniques) are very good. They cover different software sometimes, so it is not purely Photoshop. Are you looking for software guidance or painting guidance?

If you are looking to learn how to Render light and form and different materials then I would suggest "How to Render" by Scott Robertson as well. Its pretty technical and thorough on the subject.

@tyson-ranes So there are excellent books on painting that have nothing to do with digital. My favorite is probably "Color and Light" by James Gurney. I have the Scott Robertson book mentioned by @Christine-Garner but I personally do not like it much. The best source for that particular information (how to render different materials and surfaces) is not a book but a course: Fundamentals of Lighting by Sam Nielson on Schoolism. It's the best digital rendering course ever - with all respect for SVS, which offers the best courses on nearly everything else. I am not sure what their subscription model is at present, but it would be worth to subscribe for a month or two , if possible, just for that course.

@smceccarelli thank you I appreciate the reply. Really excited about both these resources. The never ending learning process has been a crazy ride with all the emotions that churn up on new journeys. I'm enjoying discovering new tricks and creating new things. Thanks again for your help!

I'll second her recommendations. Actually, I think the Scott Robertson book is really good, but I did purchase that after I had taken the Sam Nielson course and a couple other tutorials and found the info to be redundant, but it might have been helpful if I had it on hand when I was taking the courses.

Oh, and as I always recommend, check out Ctrl+ paint. It's not a book, but the instructor really knows how to explain concepts so it's not confusing and he includes lots of exercises that will boost your skills. He has different courses and bundles.

@smceccarelli I have the James Gurney book as well- it is really good. I want to do that Sam Nielson course at some point as I'm finding the How to Render book a bit dry on it's own although it is a very useful book. I worked my way through the How to Draw book before I even looked at it though because you need the basic perspective skills to work out the shadows.

@Tyson-Ranes I also found these videos yesterday: I know they are not specific to Photoshop- actually they are aimed at 3D artists, but I found them interesting and useful:
                      https://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/mastering-lighting
                      https://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/understanding-colors.

Ctrl+ paint is great, there are also some free tutorials on painting in Photoshop here: http://onepixelbrush.com/tutorials/ (scroll down to bottom for the Shaddy Safadi tutorials)

Also around the start of the year I found Phils Design Corner on youtube by Philip Dimitriadis- this stuff is REALLY good. If you search o his channel a bit there is some stuff on digital painting. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvedReHaxA4VXPPPCvAUWaQ
