SCBWI Narrative Art Challenge

For those members of SCBWI (check it out if you're not yet a member, but it's a great organization to join if you want to get into writing/illustrating children's books - scbwi.org), they're having a neat little illustration challenge. The winner gets an all expenses paid trip to the winter NYC SCBWI conference.
This forum (and obviously, the classes) have been so helpful with helping improve my skills, so I thought if anyone wants to start a critique thread for this challenge that would be neat. I'd love to offer my help too. More information about the challenge below:
