This was a fun prompt!
-
SVS rabbit getting us slow artists where we need to be quickly!!!
-
@Chip-Valecek This is funny! Love the red rabbit!
-
Here is my first attempt at an SVS contest, it had to be a bee -
@christina-brown I know what you mean. I've been recently trying to shade my illustrations by hand just to make it more organic looking and more "unique". I'm still working on it though. I don't know if I should stick with hand shading or go digital since it's less of a hassle.

Let's see if I get this posting thing right!
This is "Storm in a Teacup". Teacups count as a mode of transportation...right? -
@joy-heyer I really like thisβit looks like you had fun!
-
@Marjorie , your entry is beautiful and I love it to bits!
There are so many great pieces here, I give up on my stupid attempt and simply bow to all the wonderful artists here on the forum Great work! -
@Marjorie This is adorable. Love this illustration!
-
@kat Do not give up! You are always so positive with you comments. Post your work and let everyone help you as well!

@marjorie Wow. Fantastic.

Hey guys, I like the images you are posting. I'm going to offer some advice to the new comers, presentation counts. This is true here in the forum and it's true in the real world even more. Take time and energy on your presentation because it can be the difference between getting a job and not getting one. In this example, I used the image by @kor I wanted to show how nice of an image that actually is (great work @Kor!) and how it's getting lost by a weak presentation.
Take good shots (or scans) of your work. You WILL need to retouch in photoshop to get rid of the background and correct for exposure and color. Give your image enough room to breath on the page. Use borders if necessary. Type your name in the lower right hand corner. That's why these contests are good for you. It forces you to up your game and make the work look as good as you can. : )
Hope this helps and may luck be on your side!

Here is my entry : Jason Bowen
It was a last minute idea after visiting the British Museums in London -
@kat No please don't ! You can only grow by doing and posting, by posting you learn from the instructors here at SVS and getting kind supportive advice here on the forum. We are all at different stages of our journey your only competition should be the you from yesterday

@Lee-White
Thanks for the info, you are right, a huge change with just 2 adjustments, without changing the drawing!
Also, this is a great contest! super artists! -
@kat Never give up, never surrender! Use the great drawings as inspiration, not comparison. There are so many great artists here with so many different styles, and all of us are pretty good at advice, not to mention the great admins that offer up advice as well. I found a quote a while ago that helps so much... "Comparison is the thief of joy" Run with your joy!
