Sunset Watercolor

This was a piece I created last summer. I wasn't happy with the final painting and it almost ended up on the scrap heap. I pulled it out one day and went at it with ink pen, gouache, and color pencils.

@Rob-Smith Love those little kids and their red pops of color! Wonderful layering in the trees as well. I also like how the trees in the background sorta hang not quite touching the ground - its a bit ghosty or mystical. Lots of time and love went into this baby. Congrats Rob!

So glad you kept this piece around and revisited it. Really beautiful!

lovely piece rob. Very well done!
One thing I would like to suggest on an image like this is loosening the strokes of the trees as they get near the top of the page. Contrast will always draw attention and that will be exaggerated with sharp edges. You want your focal point to be lower near the kids. So if you added those branches with wet in wet technique instead of wet on dry it would soften it up top while still giving you the chance to show tree detail.
