Hey my name is steve, and after suffering from illness, I have decided to upgrade my art skills and become a visual storyteller.

@Cheri-Homaee I can sympathize with trying to transition from one type of art to another! I have been doing very realistic oil painting (landscapes and old master reproductions) for over a decade now - and just realized that I want to go back to what I did as a child (scifi/fantasy illustration). For me, I have found though, that a lot of the work I have done in a more traditional style and medium does translate somewhat into my new direction - so I would just consider all the realistic painting you have done so far as a great resource that gives you a more solid foundation for the work you want to do in cartooning. Also, I think the styles and techniques you have as a realistic painter will probably give you a unique style and look to your cartoons that others without that background wont have. Any ways, I wish you luck in your new journey!
