Inspiration from little children
-
Hello
Lately, I've been trying to develop a technique and style for a children's book which is still in a phase of getting the sketches finalized - so no color or stylization yet, really. I'm new to children's illustration and have a lot to learn about what could potentially be created still.
I find that my drawings are usually quite tight and refined, but I find so much joy and fluidity in my three-year-old daughter's drawings... more so than in mine!
I feel like I want to learn from her ability to flow with art, like I imagine most small children do. I thought I'd share some of the sketches of hers that I have enjoyed seeing, in case it might inspire us all. I think sometimes I forget what creativity was accessible as a child, and this is a good reminder for me.

She's a remarkable little artist! I think those skills for 3 are quite advanced..the lips on the Mom figure I think it is? that's pretty observant for one so young, and all of those amazing little flying floating creatures are just delightful. You're right..the freedom expressed by such an uninhibited young mind is very inspirational. Great reminder this morning..thanks for posting this.

I agree. I love kids art. They do the best they can and enjoy making it. These are super good for a three year old! I'e been going theough my adult kids old pictures etc. Brings nack such memories and some of their stories are hilarious!
