In an effort to expand my social media reach I have started to utilize my YouTube channel. I uploaded my first video. If you like it, share it and subscribe. I plan I doing more of these. Thanks for looking!

@Chip-Valecek This looks great! I have question, that might seem obvious, but how do you select the areas to be filled in so cleanly. Is there a shortcut for this? Paths?

@juliepeelart I rarely use paths or the marquee tool while painting. I use those more when I do logo design. But for painting I create a layer under my line art and paint the local color and cleaning up my edges with the eraser. If its just one character I will just start creating layers above the line art for my multiple and overlay or soft light layers. I am just careful that I don't paint outside of the line art. Then I usually go in with a normal layer to render out some of the forms better and this usually starts to cover the line art. Near the end you will see the selection and that comes from pressing crtl and clicking the local color layer. This will load a selection and then I can add some final shadows and highlights.

If i have multiple things going on with the piece like my travel submission, each element will get a layer for local color and then i will use clipping mask layers. That way whatever I do it will stay within the local color layer.

Thanks, @chip-valecek I watched with interest. You use a lot fewer layers than I do so maybe I am overdoing it. I just like to be able to quickly delete a layer if I don't like the effect. But then again, I am still in the early stages of digital. Here's hoping your YT video series goes well!
