JULY SVS ILLUSTRATION CONTEST TOPIC: HIDDEN
-
Not a whole lot of time this month, so I went with a more simple approach than usual. More of a scribble than a painting. (Digital/Procreate)
-
@adrian-k If this is a simple approach to you, I give up! This is very nice, IMHO. And different in style -- at least to my eyes -- from your Travel entry which I also really liked. Is this in digital or watercolor?
-
-
@maureen this is digital, done in Procreate. Although the approach is almost exactly what I would do on paper. When I say simple, I mean compared to the other two I’ve posted.

This is my wife's painting. She has been trying to post it for 30 mins, but her confirmation email never came through, so I am posting it for her.
-
Here is my entry. It's Aug 1 here, but it's still July in Nashville?
HIDDEN: Watercolour/digital -
@eric-castleman what is the email she signed up with? I can check her account and see what happened.

@art-of-b I really like the direction you took this illustration. It has layers of "hidden". The monster's features hidden in the shadow adds a lot of drama and mystery to the picture. Well done!
-
@eric-castleman I didn't know your wife was an artist too. Paula, you did a great job. This is really funny. I love that monster.
-
@tessaw I married into an artistic family. She does more so landscapes and realism, so illustration is something she is learning. Also, her little brother is in the contest as well. @Andrew-Hunt
-
@svieta THIS IS AMAZING!!! I love the bear and the girl!
-
@tom-shannon yhis reminds me of jake parker’s book ‘the girl who did not brush her hair’! Nice!

@chip-valecek Thank you for doing this. It is a true gift to all of us.

@nyrrylcadiz Oh, wow, my idea is like Jake's book. I had no idea. ( I just did an image search and sure enough, mice in the hair!! ) Thank you for the kind word!
