Hi everyone - just looking for a little feedback on this - I can’t decided if I like the version of the sketch with the little boy or little girl - it’s of a little kid (4ish) with the puppy and butterflies are coming to the flowers -
Also - do you see any tangents I have missed
And does the kid look the right age? I have a problem with that -
This is also the first piece i’m Doing in Procreate start to finish so any tips would be great - I hope it looks the way I want for the final because I usually work in mixed media and put it all together in PS
My rendering style is sort of a combo of Mary Blair, roger duvoisin, Christian Robinson, Helen Stephens, Quentin Blake, and other 50’s-60’s illustratorsVersion 2

Those are really sweet! Can’t wait to see it colored! I like the face in the boy, but the body of the girl. There are barely any differences in the face. But i like the boys best. The tiny girl’s feet are just to die for. So delicate like the little butterflies. Adorable concept and charming door and bike.

The are both great, I am leaning to the boy but I am biased as I have a 4 year old son
-
thanks
- I am not crazy about the little girl's face but I do love her feet too - There may be some surgery in order
- Is there anything else that you think would make the piece better?
-
My vote's for the first image with the little boy.
I DO see some tangents but can't do a draw-over at the moment...
The rear wheel where the tire, strut and two bricks all come together and the front wheel where the boy's hand meet the brick and tire could both become problem areas tangent-wise if you're not careful.
Overall it's a great piece, though! I'll be eager to see it once it's done

That was my observation on the girl as well (although your surgery comment made me laugh!); so I would vote for the boy based on her current look.
I take it a butterfly has landed on the dog's nose? I feel like maybe there could be a little more excitement there, if so. Could his mouth be open more? Or maybe some more evident tail wagging? I feel like a dog wouldn't be quite so still if he had a visiting playmate on his nose.
Mind you, I had to look hard to find that observation, since you seemed to be looking for some opportunities to improve this sketch.
Overall, very sweet.
