Taking a break from working on the Venom piece I wanted to knock this idea of the Piped Piper out. Back to Venom, need to finish him this week.

Wow, the colors on this are beautiful! Really digging the composition as well.

@tessaw Thanks! It seems like the pieces I do quickly seem to work better then the one's I take time on LOL.
-
@chip-valecek That's probably frustrating, but it could be the result of a couple of things.

You have good natural instincts and your logical mind may interfere with that flow. That maybe sounds a bit "floofy", but hopefully you know what I mean.

Maybe the pieces you take a long time with deal with elements you just aren't as comfortable with, like a challenging color palette, lighting situation, character design, etc. Therefore, the results don't work as well as your quick pieces, because you are still learning how to control those elements. Your quick pieces may deal with things you're more comfortable with, and that results in a better image, because you have more mastery over those elements. Make sense? Luckily those pieces that take more time will just give you better tools for future paintings, and you'll slowly start becoming comfortable with a wider range of tools for your art belt.

Really nice piece. Interesting elements throughout the space. Love how the music leads you through all the little creatures. Great styling of your subjects. Almost makes me not hate alligators and crocodiles, almost. They are terrifying. Great job!
