Original Print/Illustration Signature Verification

Hello everyone,

Out of curiosity, if one were to sell original prints and/or illustrations, and you sign them, how do you get your signature verified so that the purchaser of the artwork knows that it is legit? I've bought works of art that come with papers verifying the signature. How would one go about getting that verification? I'm not saying it's always necessary or saying that I am even at that level of needing it, but out of curiosity, I thought I'd ask.
