Inktober question - pens
-
I’ve been doing all of my Inktober pieces in my pentalic sketchbook which is 5x8. I ended up using a .005 micron because anything bigger felt like the line was too heavy. The brush pen also felt too heavy at this size. Do you find that the size of the paper you are using affects your choice of pen?

@demotlj yes! If you take a look at many of the works people are making, they are much bigger than you realize. So you do have to scale a bit if your paper is small.

I've been using 8.5x11 and 9x12 sheets of paper for inktober. That the size I feel most comfortable with. but I do love using tiny sketch books like the size of Sketch Wallets.

Definitely! A few years ago I never used anything above a .005 but now that I started working on 9x12 paper, these pens are gathering dust in my drawers. I mostly use .01 and .03 now

I guess I have to be brave and try a larger picture! I've been afraid to do anything larger than a sketch because I didn't want to ruin good paper but I guess I won't learn if I'm not willing to waste materials.
