How do the Groups work?

Hello! So I made a group called Watercolor + Traditional Media for those of us who want to discuss traditional processes based on @demotlj's post about watercolor forums, but I have no idea how to actually use the group. From what I have seen so far, groups just aggregate any and all posts/comments made by the members make rather than acting as a tag for relevant posts? Or allowing us to post directly there for focused relevant discussion? I am very confused.
@Chip-Valecek Would it be possible to make a new category for Traditional Media since the group solution doesn't seem to work? I think it would be a useful addition to the forum.

@teju-abiola new category added. Groups just basically group people together. It doesn't really work like facebook groups.
