Introduction from the Pairie

Hello all,

I thought I would introduce myself as I am starting to become active in the forums. My name is Jesse Norman Bergstrom. I have been doing illustration and drawing as a hobby for about 15 years. But I finally sold my "daytime" business (an Electronic Medical Record software company) and now have the freedom to pursue illustration full time!

I actually found SVSLearn through Creative Bloq and it is perfect for me. It is giving me great insights on the industry (kind of a switch from EHRs) and it is honing my skills. I can tell already how much it is going to accelerate my switch. A big shout out to @Will-Terry, @Lee-White and @Jake-Parker for putting this together... it is truly an amazing resource.

I have self-published a book I illustrated (finished not perfect) and started a second. I am a lover of printmaking especially woodcut, lino, drypoint and etching. I have been fortunate to find a master printmaker that I am working with to build those skills. My goal is to illustrate children's books using printmaking as the basis with potential of mixing a little watercolor in.

That's all for now. Hopefully you will start seeing some of my work here and elsewhere as I get my new business going.

I specialised in Print Making in school and really enjoyed woodcut and lino so I understand you there. I am going to check out your work after wards but it's always a treat to meet Print Makers . I don't work in it anymore but I still like seeing others make their work.

@heather-boyd Great to meet you as well. I have always loved printmaking but have only recently been able to really do it physically (instead of copying it in pen and ink). It has been great and I have a great teacher. I am excited to see where it takes me!
