Hi all! This is the moment before a sibling fight over a favourite toy. I’m going for a double page spread layout. Keywords: surprise/shock and distress or anger in the older sibling. The younger one is delighted. Feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance.

@Chip-Valecek Hey, thanks! Yeah, mine too. I thought the perspective worked out ok. I also kinda like the central ones where they're both on the circular carpet. It reminds me of being in a sumo wrestling ring... like they're about to do battle. Thanks for the input!

#1 and #2 are my faves. I like that it looks like the older sib was just walking by and looked over and noticed. I also like the idea about the round carpet too. Great compositions!

I like #1 and #2! I like how you have little pieces of the toy trailing behind the baby. I'm liking #7 too!

I like #2 best because of the shadow cast by the older sibling. I will say I think you should continue to explore alternate compositions though. These are all essentially the same shot just swiveling around the room. I would play with lowering the horizon level and varying your figure sizes more.

                  Cheers,

As mentioned above I would recommend doing more thumbs changing up the elements and setting to see if you come across something you like more. You may still like these but it’s worth the experiment. Of these thumbs I like #1 & #2 best but would suggest pulling both characters away from their respective corners a little and flip the baby so that the youngster isn’t facing the nearest edge of the image.

@steph_artist Thanks, I thought there might be a way to incorporate a kind of trail of broken bits to lead the eye. @andersoncarman , @Jon-Anderson , yes, definitely. I do tend to get hung up on my first few sketches. As it turns out, I did some more thumbnailing and found one I liked better. Good suggestions, thank you.

I like 1 the best, especially because of the trail of discarded blocks!

Just thought I’d post an update. More thumbnails and a composition I like a bit better. Won’t be hard to guess which one. 😀

@Heather-Bouteneff thanks Heather. Yes, the trail! I think instead of discarded blocks it will be pieces of the favourite toy.

I like 11 and 12 the best! And I love the idea of a trail of pieces leading to the baby.

I would encourage you to play with the babys pose a little. it is the same in all the sketches. It does work, but play with it to see if you can find something more dynamic.

                                Cheers,
