How to ink group run through
-
Awesome! I'll take a look at the course and have a thread up and running for us with a timeline and such in time to start Monday
I'll post a link to the new thread in this one and try and tag everyone in.
@burvantill I'd imagine we'll do the new one.
@xin-li @demotlj Awesome! I'm always a little jealous of people who do traditional. Maybe I'll do some too on the side this year
-
I'll also post a link to a discord channel in the new thread. This forum is great for sharing work and giving structured feedback, but discord's really good for informal chatting.
-
@Braden-Hallett I already took both courses but I fudged a little bit on the exercises so I would be down with it.
-
@chrisaakins I found the real benefit to the last group run through was less doing all the homework, and more doing all the homework at a digestible pace, if you get what I mean
Acquiring skills and reflective learning takes time.
I guess what I'm sayin' is I'm sure you'll still get something out of it!
-
@Braden-Hallett Iβm happy to know there is something I do that can make you jealous because I drool with envy over your drawings and abilities!
-
Hello, I'm interested in joining in!
-
@Braden-Hallett definitely thuogh i donβt hink Iβll be doing any inking this Inktober. Iβm just going to make art based on the prompts but with my style. LOL i feel so evil exploiting Inktober. I just really want to join and cash in on the benefits of inktober. BWAHAHA

What a great idea! Can I join too!?
-
@alicia The answer to that question is 'yes!'
-
@Braden-Hallett I think this might be one that is not so far above my level and getting in from the start will be greatβcount me in and thanks so much for initiating this!
-
@BichonBistro Give Your best
-
@BichonBistro Sounds good! Should be a good course for most levels

@Braden-Hallett I have a basic question: is there a way to post daily exercise in this topic without it being a reply?
-
being a newbie to inking, I just realized I don't have a brush pen
I bought a set of brushmarkers (winsor newton). but that's actually a felt tip I guess. Just ordered the pcoket brush (pentel)/ Local shop doesn't have them. Still practicing with the felt tip (Which seems to be getting a little bent actually). The one I ordered comes with two refills so hopefullly that takes me though this practice and inktober! I also have a pigma micron pen, using that too.
-
@Coley a friend of mine who uses exclusively the tiniest microns, deliberately crushes the tip against a desk or something to get a messed up tip and it gives her an even more unique line. I encourage messed up tools for unique looks!
-
@Aleksey neato. Thanks
-
@BichonBistro I don't think so, no
I think it's replies or start a new thread.
If you're worried about cluttering the first week's feed (but don't worry, it's fine
I think everyone likes seeing all the different linework practice methods ) then you could always start your own thread.
-
@Braden-Hallett I never noticed the blue reply button (who says artists are observant...) so I was always replying to an individual post instead of the topic thread
