      Hi everyone! Greetings from Scotland!

Sorry I didn't post much here, I'll do my best being more active and share all I can!

I just came across a job called Archelogical Illustration and I would love to apply for it. I don't have a portfolio for it and also not sure of much, but I as I have a part time and sometimes even a day job until I get on my feet as a proper full time children's Book Illustrator I thought I'd rather would Do this job.
Does anyone know much about it? and what should I prepare?
@Jake-Parker do I remember hearing you in your lessons and podcasts mentioning something about a similar job you had at some point?

Any info would be a strong help!

      Keep up the creative vibe!
      ✌️😊

@CatOnPaper doesn’t answer your question but I love your work, ❤ it. I’m a new fan, I’m going to stop slobbering now.

I think you’ve got good work for the children’s illustration book industry, I honestly had to reread when you said you haven’t got a portfolio, mouth drop.

No harm in a direct approach, is there? Do some research and find the contact for the job - a little sleuthing can go a long way. Get in touch with them and ask what exactly it is they're looking for so you can cater your work to them. If they're advertising through an agency, get in touch with the person who posted the ad and they may be able to direct you. Might get you points for proactivity.

              Thank you so much!! ♥️
What I meant was I don't have a portfolio for this particular job, 😅
Where can I see your work? x

@CatOnPaper it’s in the works. It’s stressful though. And thanks.

                      Hello Cat on Paper!

From what I know (I wanted to do this job when I was a kid) you need to be very accurate in your drawings if you draw archeological pieces.

If the task is to recreate animals from bones, you ll need to have a very good understanding of anatomy.

If you are requested to draw environment pieces (such as scene with people in costumes), composition and attention to details is key!

Please let us know how it works! Good luck!

Julia (another attentive follower of your art on IG!)
