NOVEMBER CONTEST: SLOWVEMBER

@anya-macleod beautiful illustration I love the colours!
-
@chrisaakins oh cool thankyou will know for next time
-
@Inge-Permentier thankyou! I've been focusing lately on colours, my colours always felt disjointed since I changed to digital
-
A very personal piece for the #slowvember challenge. I did a memory from my childhood, I remember the toys, the computer, the beer can collection and even the dinosaur poster I broke while playing baseball. I’m very happy with how it turned out!

A heart broken mother ghost watches her only child ghost leaving home. It's tough moving out on your own when you're alive and it must be even harder to cross over! Very sad story. I hope the rest of the family leave the old run down house soon!
-
Hi everyone, I’ve learnt a lot again this slowvember but it’s time to post as the rest of the month is taken up with other commitments. I wanted an excuse to play around with textures and a less polished looking drawing style. Hope you’re all having a great slowvember, can’t wait to see everyone’s work -
@peteolczyk there is so much about this I love. I love the rendering with a the moving lines and textures. Such a great job. A winner for sure!
-
@chrisaakins cheers Chris, love your mice too, you have great set of characters there.

That was obviously a really good idea. This turned out really REALLY awesome!

@anya-macleod wow! I just love the colors you picked for this! It make the picture seem dreamy and cold yet warm and cozy. Love it!
-
@avfarrar thankyou that means a lot because I always struggle with picking colours!
-
@Braden-Hallett cheers Braden, you’ve got a great portfolio of work from this slowvember.

This is the first time I've entered the SVS contest. Here's to new goals! I've had this image in mind for a while. Being from Oklahoma, we studied the bison quite a bit. It's our state mammal. When I was in grade school, the species was endangered, and now we are eating them again. I think that's a triumph, right? (Incidentally, the bird is a scissor-tailed flycatcher and is the Oklahoma state bird. Ironically, it is becoming endangered.) Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!! image url)

@Tom-Shannon you have taken the ghost concept into a very sensitive perspective. I like that it has made me think.
-
Welcome to the contest!
@karammitchell not certain if what I am going to say was intentional for you but I like how the mountain shape has been repeated through the hump of your bison (don't you just want to hug him, lols) and even the top of your scissor-tailed flycatcher's head - it helps bring unity to your image (I think that at least). Also seen in the clouds I forgot to mention.
-
@Heather-Boyd Thank you! I'm glad those kinds of decisions are coming through!
-
Hi! I’m new here at this forum and I would like to join the contest this month. I’m not quite sure how to. Do I post an illustration directly here in this thread?
-
@Jenny-Lindqvist yes. Just make sure it's less than 500kb. I didn't know that for a long time.
