      I was in AmeriCorps in 2009 so I don't think I did ANY art. You said older was ok; is the challenge meaning:

      I should find something older than 2009 and redraw it even if it's 15-20 years ago?
      I should redraw something, say, from 2014 and make it a 5-yr challenge? This would be more productive for me.

        @Amanda-Bancroft which ever you prefer! I actually picked something from 2010 cause I had nothing interesting from 2009 ๐Ÿ˜‚

          @eriberart Finally, I got around to redrawing an older piece "Cupful of Bunnies" from 2016 (at left) and 2020 (at right).

          Not 10 years but more of a 5 years challenge. Still I really like the idea of seeing progress and having the chance to redo something. I had to rush at the end, because of deadlines, so I'm not 100% satisfied that the redraw is my current best effort, but Finished Not Perfect right? ๐Ÿ™‚

            @eriberart This is really cool! Such awesome progress. I am doing something similar with an older piece of mine. I'll remember to share in the forums when I finish! You have developed such a great style, too!

              Hi @eriberart, what a great reflection!

              I stopped drawing everyday when I was about 9 because of poor grades, but hereโ€™s my very first digital illustration on October 2018 some 30 years later (after getting the illustration itch), compared to a recent illustration this year. Needless to say, SVS and this community have really helped me progress!

                This looks fun! I'm going to try to find something really cringe-worthy from 10 years ago ๐Ÿ™‚

                  I was just starting college but also found work late high school. Just need to narrow down to one though I may try more because I still like some of the ideas just add a bit more kid friendly to them. A lot of them are drawings though.

                          What a great idea @eriberart and great progress over time! Are you going to do this more often? I see the post is from back in November, maybe you can draw the same image every year haha!
                          @Amanda-Bancroft Looks great!
                          That's awesome, @Jeremy-Ross!

                          Thanks to this topic I found this gem gathering dust in my files ๐Ÿ˜น
                          This was the first picture book I "illustrated" for an amateur writer. As an amateur illustrator haha. I wasn't able to find all of the drawings, but the story was about a duck that had abnormal feet. It was a picture book with A LOT of text and black and white spot drawings.
                          I painted the cover in Paint Shop Pro ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚
                          The illustrations were made with graphite pencil and I did not yet know how to create a transparent background.

                          Oh my. Maybe I will pick one of the illustrations to draw again.

                            What a fun idea! I'd have to really dig to find something 10 years old (many of my old sketchbooks are lost to time) but I'm currently re-doing a 4 year old watercolor!

                              @nadyart I actually think those old drawings are really cute! I used to redraw the same picture every year to track my improvement but I stopped a few years ago. I know I have them saved somewhere but I canโ€™t find them... I did find this though! My monthly improvement over 8 years until 2018. I never did one for 2019 https://imgur.com/a/yPAVKIn

                                  @nadyart it is cool (and a bit cringe!) to see all the phases I went through... I was 14 when I made the first one!

                                    @Heather-Boyd I did.

                                    The year was 2012 and I just introduced myself to digital art:

                                    little_red_riding_hood.jpg

                                    And then last year I took the same idea and did this:
